About Gordeeva and Grinkov
Russian pair skaters Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov won two Olympic gold medals in 1988 and 1994.
They were married in 1991.
In 1995 Sergei died of a heart attack, leaving Katia alone with their 3-year-old daughter Daria.
Since then Katia has pursued a solo career and is now still skating with superb artistry.
She married Russian skater Ilia Kulik in 2002 and had a second daughter, Elizaveta.

The first time I got to know about Gordeeva and Grinkov was in May 2005.
The first performance I watched of them was 1995 Challenge of Champions - Verdi's Requiem.
The best birthday present I have ever received was "A Letter for Daria" ;)
